What is the first thing I should do when I have a traffic accident?
First, make sure everyone is safe and uninjured, take care of any injured party the best you can and call 9-1-1. Then check with the other party and exchange insurance information. Never admit fault. Let the Police complete their report and determine who is at fault. After you have a case number from the Police, contact your insurance company. Then contact an experienced and professional body shop like Gary’s Body Shop.
My insurance company is suggesting certain body shops, do I need to use one of those shops?
No, you do not. You have the right to contact as many body shops as you like and select the repair facility you would like to use. Only you can authorize repairs to your vehicle.
Will a body shop ask for money upfront for a repair before I file a claim with my insurance company?
No, only if you decide not to file a claim, would you be required to make payment upfront. If your repair facility requires prepayment when you make a claim, get to Gary’s Body Shop and we will help you through the process.
What if additional damage is discovered on my vehicle after the initial claim is filed?
You should contact your insurance handler.
